ACE comprises staff principally of the Botany, Geosciences, Statistics and Zoology departments and the School of Natural Resources.

The Centre for African Conservation Ecology is led by the Director, Prof. Graham Kerley, with support from thea Deputy-Director, Prof Vincent Kakembo,and an internal management committee. 

Staff members contribute expertise that includes: Animal-plant, predator-prey interactions, landscape function, land use and cover/vegetation change, GIS and remote sensing applications, erosion forms, hillslope hydrology, vegetation ecology, plant stress physiology, soil nitrogen and soil nutrient availability.
